Viscount Avenue Integrated Renewal Project

Details:  This is an integrated road, water and sewer rehabilitation project. The aging watermain and sanitary sewers require replacing due to age (they date from 1945).  Full road reconstruction will include curbs, sidewalks, water and sewer service to the property line.

The project will include:

• Replacement of sections of the existing watermain and sanitary and storm sewers to accommodate level of service requirement in the areas.  Watermain replacement on Visscount, Harrold Place and Veteran.
• Sanitary sewer replacement on Viscount and Harrold Place.  Abondonment of sanitary between Harrold Place and Merivale. New sanitary on Veteran between Harrold Place and Viscount.
• Storm sewer replacement throughout except for Harrold Place storm sewers, which are in good condition and will be protected during construction.
• Water and sanitary service lateral replacement to City property line.
• Full road reconstruction, including installation of new wider concrete sidewalks.

Specific traffic-calming initiatives:

• Harrold Place:  Implementation of one-way traffic, upgraded sidewalks, curb extensions, speed humps and raised crosswalks.
• Veteran: Similiar upgrades including wider sidewalks, curb extensions, speed humps and raised intersections.
